Fresh, Suggested Friends, Me Rex at The Montague Arms Jul 11th, 2016 at The Montague Arms, London
Another 4TSOT curated night. This one's at everyone's favourite grotty SE pub. Expect lots of denim and flannel.
Fresh
Fresh are both spring and autumn at once. 90's emo, alt, and p-rock influenced, they can either help you get through a tough adolescence or somehow succeed in making you nostalgic for a youth you thought was pretty shitty at the time.
Suggested Friends
Jangly pop punk with incredibly catchy hooks. Featuring a former folkie and members of bands you've seen somewhere before. Lots of lyrical regret and a neat Harry Potter metaphor. JK Rowling's new fave band. (Possibly).
ME REX
Another acoustic aficionado now with band, often compared to Mountain Goats and Front Bottoms. Myles' songwriting hits you in the guts and tugs at your heart and then, before you really start rocking back and forth crouched on the floor, offers to play toy dinosaurs with you. ("Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal" etc. etc.)
